Apple announced the new iPhone 3G S yesterday. Here are some of the highlights:
• Significantly faster performance, improved battery life
• Supports 7.2Mbps HSPDA
• 3 megapixel auto-focus camera, supports video
• Able to edit and share videos from phone
• Voice control
• Digital compass
• $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, old 3G available for $99
• Ships with iPhone OS 3.0, on June 19th
Figures Brandi and I both bought our iPhones this year. This time around, AT&T isn't allowing people to upgrade to the new iPhone for a discount. In fact, current customers will have to pay an early upgrade price of $399 (16 GB) and $499 (32 GB). Sure, I'd like a better camera and longer battery life, but come on! The good news is that Apple is releasing their new operating system on June 17th to everyone, so we'll all still be getting an upgrade that includes cut and paste, MMS texting (Finally!) and some other neat features.
