Blackface isn't offensive in Australia?

Harry Connick Jr. was recently on an SNL-type sketch show in Australia. He was judging a talent segment when a group of Austrailians came out dressed in blackface doing a Jackson Five performance. He keeps his cool during the judging, but realizes once this hits the internet his career is OVER. So, Harry comes back after the break and explains to the Aussies how putting on black makeup and mocking black people is all in good fun, but in the good 'ole USA "we've spent so much time trying to make black people not look like buffoons, that when we see something like that we really take it to heart." Uh oh...

Edit: Original video was pulled from Youtube. This is a newscast that contains the original performance.
